The Chippewa Flowage has 15,000 acres of water and nearly 2,000 acres of islands. You can fish for musky, walleye, northern pike, crappie, bluegill and sunfish in a beautiful wilderness setting. While you are fishing, you may see majestic bald eagles, blue herons, and loons, as well as many other kinds of wildlife.
Timberlake Lodge is located on the south shore of Chief Lake of the Chippewa Flowage, approximately 18 miles southeast of Hayward, Wisconsin.
The grounds are level with no hills to climb or steps to walk to get to the dock or the beach. There is a community fire bowl available for use of the guests. We have a concrete boat launching ramp with ample dock space.
A sandy beach and a gently sloping swimming area make it safe for children and easy for parents to watch their children. The large floating dock is well-lit and ideal for night fishing.
The full housekeeping cabins are fully equipped with all the dishes, pots and pans, coffee pots, and toaster. All of the bed linens are also supplied. You will need to bring towels. Cribs and high chairs are available upon request. Each cabin has a picnic table and a grill.
Each cabin rental comes with a 14-foot aluminum boat. Motors are available to rent if needed. A pontoon and a paddle boat also can be rented. Fishing licenses and live bait are sold on the premises. Timberlake Lodge is an official weighing station.
The main lodge houses the office, a full liquor bar, games, and a pool table. Pizza is served in the bar. Candy, soda, snacks, and ice cream are also available.
From the south take I-90 and I-94, following I-94 to the Osseo Interchange. Leave I-94 and follow Hwy. 10 to Co. R north to Augusta. There take Hwy. 27 north to Hwy. 70 at Ojibwa. Turn left and follow Hwy. 27-70 to Couderay. At Couderay, turn north on Co. CC. Watch for signs.
